It offers our junior youth and youth an opportunity to immerse themselves in a distinctive Bahá’í atmosphere of love and fellowship, in which they can develop a deeper love for Bahá’u’lláh, gain a broader understanding of the principles and teachings of the Faith and a firmer commitment to uphold the standards of Bahá’í character and conduct, and can practice the skills used in reaching out to others with the message of the Faith, so that each may better fulfill the Guardian’s expressed desire that we “translate the ideals of the Cause into daily deeds of constructive spiritual living”.

From the Adult Classes: Local Spiritual Assemblies
at work. Each was to navigate an obstacle course while holding
responsibilities (big balls) up together through coordinated
efforts. Each LSA devised a plan and carried it
out, adjusting to changing conditions along the way. What
was especially wonderful were the spontaneous cheers of encouragement
that arose from competing LSAs which had completed
runs or were waiting turns.

Badashts traditional Saturday Night Talent
Show: National Spiritual Assembly member Erica Toussaint, entranced
by the performance of a difficult piece of classical music by
fifth-grader Maryam Baghdadi. Erica was extremely popular (no
surprise) with the children and youth, and her gracious presence
was certainly one of the reasons the school went so well despite
having more than 50 people attend than the facility is designed
to handle. |

Steve Phelps visited the school on his vacation from his
duties at the World Centers translation department.
He met with several adults to answer questions and gave a
brief, but enlightening talk on the works of Baháulláh
in their historical context.

Two youth of the Youth Workshop, Addison Dolin-James (left)
