Location: Camp Onomia in Onamia, Minnesota — Surrounded by 10,000 acres of wilderness and lakes, located at the south end of Lake Mille Lacs, on Lake Shakopee, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours north of the Twin Cities, MN.

Theme: Linking Individual Learning to Collective Action - linking friends from clusters at different levels of development with one another to share learnings; linking individuals with tutors who can serve their needs; linking the skills and insights developed at summer school with activities in the clusters: “What happens at camp does NOT stay at camp!”

Special Guests: Auxiliary Board Member Tim Crawford; Becky Smith, Regional Bahá'í Council of the Central States member; and Bauback Anazary, Central States Regional Training Institute Coordinator

Class Topics to include:

  • Review of the Ridvan Message
  • ABCs of Cluster Development
  • Ruhi Book 6 Refresher
  • Anna’s Presentation – what it is, why we have it and how it is used

Recreation Facilities: lake with sand beach, canoes, recreation hall with indoor pool, ping pong, fusbol, etc, outdoor activities such as softball, and basketball

Accommodations: The Recreation Hall has private rooms and private baths, plus 3 buildings of dorm style accommodations, and camping facilities.

Special Guest: Lynn Wietes, Auxiliary Board Member

We have a well balanced program of adult and youth speakers, youth and children’s classes, afternoon workshops and recreational activities. Classes are on “The Five Year Plan”, “Teaching People of Other Faiths” and “Bahá’í Administration and its Relationship to the Plan”. Afternoon workshops on: “Raising Baha’I Children”, “What the Internet has for Baha’is” and “Sending Youth on a Year of Service or Pioneering”.

Saturday evening is celebrated with an outdoor barbeque cook-out, followed by entertaining presentations and a dance. Bahá’í bookstore coffee shop are also available throughout the week.

We are pleased to announce that we are lowering the family lodging cap to encourage the friends to participate in our summer school.

The new lodging cap for the Retreat Center will be reduced by $100 to $380.

The lodging cap for the dorm has been reduced by $80 to $240.

All meals still need to be purchased independently of lodging costs. You are welcome to bring your own food.

Additionally, children under 2 are free of all charges.

Because of these changes, we have extended our registration deadline to Friday, Aug 5.
