Baha'i Schools and Institutes header

Individuals, families and communities converge throughout the year at the four national schools, two institutes, 34 regional schools and hundreds of local schools, created to provide a rare and wonderful atmosphere of peace and fellowship and opportunities to nurture our spirituality. These schools are operated under the auspices of the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States and funded by the American Bahá’í community.

National Schools & Institutes

Image for link to Baha'i Youth Service CorpNational facilities offer a variety of beautiful residential settings with a wide variety of year-round programs for families, adults and children:

  • Louis G. Gregory Bahá’í Institute — Located near the South Carolina coast and serving the area with a broadband radio station (WLGI 90.9 FM) and the local population with educational and faith-based programs.

  • Native American Bahá’í Institute — Located on a Navajo reservation in northern Arizona and serving a large area with educational and faith-based programs.

  • Wilmette Institute — Distance learning college-level classes about many aspects of spiritual education, classes on the history of the Bahá’í Faith and its connection to other world faiths http://www.wilmetteinstitute.org. Some students have taken these courses and received college credit.

Regional Schools

Currently 34 regional schools are coordinated by volunteer committees consisting of people from clusters of communities who plan activities held primarily in the summer, with some sessions held during long winter weekends and school breaks. These are held in a variety of locations, including college campuses, campgrounds, conference centers.

Local Schools

There are hundreds of schools across the nation which hold regularly scheduled (most often weekly) classes sponsored by a local Bahá’í community.
