Ideas from the Committees—Affecting the Environment

Renaming Locations for Spiritual Atmosphere

At Georgia Bahá’í School, the committee renamed the locations throughout the school, to move everyone into a different, spiritual atmosphere. These changes were made on school-made maps and signs, and certainly stirred participants’ hearts:

Carmel Rise — the uphill area near the sleeping quarters
Akka Plain — the flat sweeping area near the soccer fields
The Meditation Trail — a trail that winds trough the Akka Plain beckoning to the heart
The Youth Energy Zone — the area at and near the Arts & Crafts building

At Sheltering Branch Bahá’í School in eastern Washington State, each cabin is given a new, “Bahá’í” name. Carved wooden signs are hung on each cabin door, with names such as, “Qudrat”, “Ilm” and “Rahmat”.
