Ideas from the Committees—Youth Programs

Inviting Bahá’í Campus Associations

Bahá’í Schools wanting to increase their youth attendance might reach out to Bahá'í Campus Associations with this example from Louisiana Bahá’í School: Blinn College (Texas) teacher Karen Anglin sponsors the school’s Bahá’í Club. Having been a sponsor of other campus clubs in the past, she knew that the college provided funds for these clubs to go on club-related outings. For several years now, Ms. Anglin has brought the Blinn College Bahá’í Campus Association (which usually has more non-Bahá’í than Bahá’í members) to the Louisiana Bahá’í Winter School. The College not only pays full costs for the students to attend Bahá’í School, it allows Ms. Anglin to drive the members there in a college van, and even pays for their gas! This year 8 youth, most of whom are not Bahá’ís, attended Louisiana Bahá’í School in this way. They thoroughly appreciated this exposure to study of the Faith and to Bahá’í community life, and it has ignited increased interest in the Faith by the club members upon their return home.
