Ideas from the Committees—Fun Fund-Raisers

“Coffee Shop” Fundraiser from William Sears Great North Woods (Minnesota) National Bahá’í School:

The Minnesota friends had a very successful fundraising effort during their School (which was an idea brought to them and operated by a local Baha'i community): “Coffee Shop”.

The community brought lots of coffee makers, grinders, a samovar, etc. and set up a “coffee shop” adjacent to the school’s Bookstore. The “Coffee Shop” was open early morning to late evening — any time classes were not in session. They served gourmet, “Starbucks-style” drinks and Persian tea, for reasonable prices. This was very popular, and became the place to hang out. The friends also enjoyed drinking coffee and tea as they browsed the Bookstore. The “Coffee Shop” was completely operated by the Bahá’í community which suggested it. And, the William Sears Great North Woods School made enough for 3 full scholarships for next year!
