Ideas from the Committees—Children and Junior Youth Programs

Southern California Bahá’í School’s “Caught Ya!”

Committee members and other enthusiastic helpers were on the watch for children, junior youth and youth (and adults too) who were “doing something good”, such as being extra helpful in class, picking up trash, assisting a child or elder, etc. Unsuspecting helpers were awarded “Caught Ya! Doing Something Good” tickets at any time throughout the session. During break times one’s ticket could be redeemed at the school-run snack bar for a snack of one’s choice, such as granola bar, nuts, crackers, water bottle or juice. Having service and virtuous behavior recognized and rewarded was fun for all, and added to an atmosphere of helpfulness and joy.
